So here is the deal on this great product. A couple of enterprising gun toters down in Florida were frustrated with the limited availability and functionality of most other holster shirts on the market so they did what any good American would do -- they invented their own! Then they started up a small business and got to work manufacturing Santee's Con-Wep (Concealed Weapons) T-shirts so the rest of us could enjoy this well made, comfortable, functional holster shirt too.
They wanted something tough and durable so they used industrial grade velcro and elastic.
They wanted something comfortable and long wearing so they used 6.1 oz 100% cotton sleeveless t-shirts that breathe for cool comfort.
They wanted something that retained its fit so they pre-washed the base shirt once before adding the holster panel and once after to eliminate unwanted shrinkage.
They wanted something that could be worn for hours on end and remain comfortable so they padded and quilted the shoulder and holster panel.
They wanted something that would securely hold even larger guns without sagging or stretching out the shirt so they designed a quilted shoulder holster and attached it to the shirt for shape retention.
So here is how a Con-Wep holster shirt works.
You select a size of shirt that is not too tight and not too loose - they suggest modestly snug. The manufacturer suggests that the sizes run a little large. Available in Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, 2X (+$4), 3X (+$4).
Then pick the carry side (crossdraw carry so right handed draw has the holster on the left and visa versa). You pick the color of sleeveless shirt. Men's models come in Black or White.
The shirt has a holster unit permanently stitched into it. A quilted and reinforced panel extends down the shoulder with a nearly universal elastic band holster attached to the quilted panel, situated on the side just under the arm. An adjustable retention strap is stitched on one side and can be extended over the gun and affixed with a sturdy hook and loop fastener on the other. Or, if you don't want to use a retention strap, just tuck it behind the gun.
The quilted panel protects your body/torso from being poked by your gun and adds structural support to the holster so it doesn't misshape the shirt. You can wash the shirt and holster over and over and it still retains its shape and functionality. Throw on a shirt or jacket over the holster shirt and you've got a comfortable, secure concealed weapon.
